Sioux Falls, SD –February 15, 2022 – Macurco Gas Detection, a leading developer of gas detection solutions for fire and security, HVAC, industrial, and personal safety, announced its new innovative Gas Boiler Controller (GBC).
Due to boiler legislation growing throughout the United States and already adopted in states such as Texas, Florida, and Georgia, the Gas Boiler Controller, along with Macurco monitors, comply with the carbon monoxide and boiler reset codes.
The Gas Boiler Controller used in conjunction with the Macurco CM-6 Carbon Monoxide and/or GD-6 Combustible Gas Monitor is used to shut down a boiler or water heater in the event of Carbon Monoxide or gas leak build-up. This device provides boiler shutdown, local audible and visual notification, and optional external audible and visual notification outside the room.
Using a single detector or up to four gas detectors, the controller can control up to 8 dry contact outputs. In the event of a gas alarm, the Gas Boiler Controller (GBC) will engage the relay to turn off the necessary appliance. If the detectors are programmed in latching mode, the GBC will remain in alarm until the reset button has been pressed. If gas is still present above the Fan Relay Setting value, the GBC will go into alarm and latch again. The Gas Boiler Controller has a green power light, a red alarm light, a boiler reset button, and an audible buzzer.
“More and more states are releasing requirements for carbon monoxide detection and activation of shutting down the boiler in the event of CO buildup. The Gas Boiler Controller was a perfect addition to our portfolio offering a more complete solution that will benefit the ease of use and safety for boiler room applications,” said Aaron Sherman, Macurco Gas Detection, Product Manager – Macurco Building & Home.
