TracXP by Macurco stands out in the industry with its advanced technology and high-precision sensors that ensure reliable detection of gas hazards such as H₂S, O₂ deficiency or enrichment, and combustible gases such as Methane. The incorporation of temperature compensation maintains accuracy across varying environmental conditions. TracXP systems are designed to detect gas leaks early, prevent exposure to toxic levels, and protect personnel through comprehensive alerts, including horns, strobes, and remote notifications. With versatile applications suitable for a wide range of settings, from oilfields to industrial facilities, and custom sensor ranges like 0-500 PPM or 0-1000 PPM for H₂S, TracXP provides optimal performance for any scenario. The user-friendly design ensures ease of installation and maintenance, reducing downtime and operational costs, while smart sensor technology simplifies commissioning and maintenance processes, enhancing overall efficiency. TracXP devices are built to last, offering a long lifespan and robust construction that withstands harsh industrial environments. The comprehensive monitoring solutions include Sample Draw Assemblies (SDAs) for precise gas concentration monitoring at the source and seamless data integration with existing infrastructure, enabling proactive management of gas hazards.

Backed by Macurco’s long history and extensive experience in gas detection technology, TracXP products are trusted by leading environmentally and safety-focused companies, integrators, and end users for their effectiveness and reliability in real-world applications, solidifying Macurco’s reputation as a top-tier gas detection solution.

Macurco has provided numerous TracXP TXP-SDA systems for upstream energy producers that produce water and crude oil tank batteries and facilities. These devices monitor the headspace of the main produced water and crude oil tanks for high concentrations of H₂S. Depending on the location’s maximum possible exposure levels, TracXP offers H₂S sensors in ranges from 0 – 25 PPM all the way up to 0 – 5,000 PPM. As locations vary and these tanks are typically 300 – 500 barrel tanks, the versatility of the TXP-SDA allows monitoring of the gun barrel and/or individual tanks.

These SDAs protect company personnel, pumpers (who manage daily operations at tanks, batteries, and well sites), and truck drivers hauling water or oil offsite from high H₂S exposure. If someone were to open a thief hatch (a small 6-8″ lid) on the catwalk above the tanks, they could be exposed to toxic H₂S levels. Therefore, the SDAs monitor the headspace above the highest possible liquid level to prevent anyone from entering the catwalk without proper PPE.

Without this active sampling system providing visibility of H₂S levels prior to ascending to the top of the tanks, company personnel typically must manually pull a sample at the Thief Hatch, exposing themselves to potentially life-threatening concentrations. In many locations, ground-level ambient monitoring is used to protect ground-level personnel. The Sample Draw Assembly detects gas in the tank head-space before it leaks into the ambient air, notifying nearby personnel through horns and strobes and remotely alerting a SCADA system, which transmits the alerts and gas levels to a central office.

Early detection of high H₂S levels is crucial to prevent extreme corrosion inside metal piping, premature leaks, and machinery failures. This allows producers to adjust the level of additives injected at the wellhead to lower H₂S levels effectively.
